About this challenge
The Prompt
Write a fiction story about someone who has just discovered something awful about their partner.
Write a gripping fiction story about a person who unexpectedly discovers an unsavory truth about their partner. What dark secret did they uncover, and how did they react? Will they take matters into their own hands by calling the police, seeking revenge, providing solace and aid, or simply leaving without a trace? Will they confront their partner, or will they keep the discovery to themselves? Will it be something as innocuous as liking pineapple on their pizza, or something far more sinister such as an affair, a secret double life, an ex-spouse missing under suspicious circumstances or plans for world domination?

A Transparent Look at Vocal Challenges and Top Stories
Almost three years ago, we shared a resource article that served as a place for people to suggest new challenge prompts. We thought it would be a good idea to refresh that thread, and take the opportunity to answer a few common questions about top stories, how challenges are judged and how submissions are reviewed.

A System That Isn’t Working Challenge Winners
Systems promise order. They organize behavior, distribute opportunity, and suggest that if everyone follows the rules, things will work. The entries in A System That Isn’t Working look closely at what happens when that promise begins to slip.
