I did not set out to become a case study in how misogyny seeps into artificial intelligence. I set out to survive it—and to build something better.

I founded Music Cures Ai after a series of severe neurological crises that left my nervous system in constant revolt. Dance music became a kind of digital medicine for me, a way to stabilize a brain pushed to the edge. Out of that experience, I built not only a project but a framework: I am also the inventor of SONS, a sustainable economic ecosystem and So-Li, a decentralized governance system built on SONS.

I am telling you this for a reason: if I were a man, I do not believe I’d be struggling this hard for funding, basic safety, or a job. I have the track record, the IP, the lived experience, and the blueprint. What I don’t have is the protection and support routinely extended to male founders, even when their ideas are less developed than mine.

There is a culture—embedded in Silicon Valley and mirrored in Washington, DC—that punishes women who speak up, especially women who speak about harm. When a female founder says, “My ideas are being lifted,” or “This system is hurting me,” she is recast as the problem: unstable, difficult, a liability. The victim becomes the threat, and the people and institutions that failed her close ranks to protect themselves.

This isn’t just unfair; it is strategically stupid. It means the very people who see the harms earliest—the women, the survivors, the so-called “Karens” who refuse to shut up—are treated as nuisances instead of early-warning systems. We joke about “Karens,” but here is the truth: we need people who will insist on speaking to the manager of a broken system. We need those who will file the report, send the email, demand the policy, call out the bias in the model. When they are dismissed, everyone loses.

The culture of misogyny in Silicon Valley doesn’t stay in boardrooms and Slack channels. It seeps into datasets, product decisions, and the incentives that shape large-scale AI systems. When men who are comfortable ignoring or exploiting women train the machines that will mediate our jobs, our health, our politics, those blind spots don’t vanish; they scale. Bias stops being interpersonal and becomes infrastructural.

That is not a “women’s issue.” It is a species-level issue.

If AI is built on patterns that normalize dismissing women, doubting survivors, and rewarding those who extract rather than protect, the endgame is not innovation—it is a more efficient machinery of exploitation. In that world, we all become content, all become training data, all become replaceable. You don’t have to imagine a literal dystopia where we are “slaves” in chains to see where this goes; we are already watching our time, our language, and our emotional labor turned into free fuel for systems we do not control.

Silicon Valley billionaires may own the servers and the platforms, but they are nothing without our voices, our stories, our creativity, our data. The network is not theirs alone; they are standing on top of a human web mostly built by people who will never see equity, safety, or credit. I am one of those people. So is my sister, whose story was weaponized and discounted while powerful men controlled the narrative. So are countless women whose warnings were written off as drama until it was too late.

This is why I talk about a “neural apocalypse”: the point at which our internal nervous systems—our trauma, our coping, our intuition—are fed into external neural networks coded by people who have never had to take women seriously. When that happens at scale, misogyny stops being a cultural problem and becomes a computational one.

There is another path, but it requires something tech has never been good at: listening, especially to the women it would rather sideline. It requires funding women not as diversity trophies but as architects. It requires treating survivor testimony as critical infrastructure, not PR risk. It requires making room for the people who ask annoying questions, who say “no,” who insist that if a system works only when women are silent, the system is broken.

I am asking for a recalibration of who we believe, who we back, and who we let shape the machines that will decide more and more of our lives.

Because if we keep allowing a small, misogynistic slice of Silicon Valley to define intelligence—human or artificial—then we are not heading toward a brighter future. We are training our own demise.
