🚘 Buckle up, folks! 🚗 Do all country roads take you home 🚗💨
When Civic Sense Becomes The Least Common Sense!

In the town of Pasadena anything goes. Yes, everything moves on the roads— very much following its own rules. On the surface everyone obeys the traffic law, but beneath the surface, chaos reigns.
Lane markings are often seen as
barriers that need to be crossed somehow. In certain areas a “ hummus shuffle ,” emerges, and it can be witnessed with crawling cars moving at very low speeds—often stopping mid-way for no apparent reason. Dipping into adjacent lanes are some strange drivers sampling varying speeds. Yet, there is some kind of civic difference countering disasters from happening. Along the way one can have the pleasure of keeping company with some drivers who hesitantly seem to be inching towards unpredictable outcomes —martyrdom. Pedestrians and local cattle 🐄 find their way into their respective fields, making a few drivers intolerably anxious. At some roadside posts drivers can be found nervously intoxicated, trying to cope up with the the traffic predicaments. All this show happens in a jiffy as though maneuvering the roads was a hurdle challenge. Sometimes it’s difficult to even differentiate where the road ends and when the fields begin. Overwhelmingly many have taken scenic detours on the route, playing rhythmic honks all along the way. The traffic lights 🚦 change colors, adding to the distinctive disco atmosphere to this hummus shuffle.
Talking about speed limits — it’s like recommendations for the brave and grave! The signage has 35mph written on it but the average speed shuttles between two extremes. It’s either 150 mph or under 10 mph. To that point, it all depends on how and what decides to take on the road. Also some of the signage along the road has turned into decorative art pieces. For example there’s a graffiti depicting the local constable 👮♂️ riding a horse 🐎 as though testing its agility like a cowboy 🤠.
One sunny day, Officer Roy patrolled the streets, nodding at law-abiding citizens... who were all doing something ridiculous 🤷♀️.
Officer Roy: “Sir, you're driving the wrong way down a one-way street."
Driver: "Oh, I'm just 'reversing' my commute. Eco-friendly."
As chaos ensued, Pasadena’s traffic report read: "All clear. Traffic flowing smoothly... sideways 😄"
The town's secret? Everyone is too polite to comment on the madness.
Life is about "creative driving" 😂
🚗 Now Buckle up, folks! Let's talk about some more —the usual suspects, on the road 😄
1. The Speed 😈 Demon: A blur of a car zooms past, music blasting, driver sporting a "I’m not speeding, I’m just exploring the car’s top speed" expression.
2. The Sunday Driver: A kid-in-a-candy-store vibe, window down, music up, enjoying the scenic route... at 20 mph 🤣
3. The Phone Zombie: 🧟♂️ Eyes glued to screen, fingers typing away, oblivious to the world (and traffic lights)
4. The Road Hog: Takes up 3 lanes, insists on driving like they're in a demolition derby 😂
5. The Grandma/Gampa: Goes 5 mph below speed limit, waves at everyone, and honks if you dare pass 🤷♀️
6. The Tech Bro: Tesla on autopilot, driver’s reading a book or taking a nap 🚀
7. The Lost Tourist: Maps in hand, confused look, stops in the middle of the road to ask directions 🤔
And let's not forget the mysterious drivers who drive their tractors 🚜 after tying their cattle 🐮 safely by the roadside.
Following are the salient features of Mrs. Sallie’s husband —Mr. Tom :
- Drive with shoes off
- Have a car full of dogs as "co-drivers"
- Sport bumper stickers like "My kid is an honor student... at Hogwarts"
🚗 Takeaway: When rules are guidelines, anything goes! 🚗💨
When the journey turns into a hummus shuffle , spice it up and roll with it !
