They Don’t Hear You

Verse 1

Folks won’t listen if the talk ain’t about them,

They won’t stay long once the shine starts to fade.

Turning from the truth when it don’t fit their desires,

Shout it’s all wrong just to keep their way.

Verse 2

We've seen them go quiet when facts get heavy,

Seen them look right past what they don’t want to know.

Slamming the door while the truth patiently waits,

ThenwWalk off fast when the winds start to blow.

Chorus

They won’t hear nothing that don’t lift their story,

Turn their back quick when the truth cuts through.

You can show them the facts right there in the open,

They’ll still say no because they don't hear you.

They don't hear you.

Verse 3

Its hard to speak plain when a mind stays narrow,

Its even harder to reach when they shut you down.

They won’t hear nothing that don’t praise their image,

And truth gets lost when the ego gets loud.

Chorus

They won’t hear nothing that don’t lift their story,

Turn their back quick when the truth cuts through.

You can show them the facts right there in the open,

They’ll still say no because they don't hear you.

They don't hear you.

They just don't hear you.
