In the wee hours
The dreaming comes,
When feeling toils to better thought
And hope makes her way to bed,
While Demons sink into Hell
Carrying fragile souls aloft,
Where terrors of the day lurk
In corners,
Awaiting their marching orders,
A legion of anxieties
Will take over from
Delight
In the middle of the night.

Ah the cursed demons who haunt our sleep. How do they even know when to taunt and jeer, I guess they never sleep. Beautiful poetry.
One cycles into the other, the ups & downs of falling asleep never knowing quite where it will take us.
