Bio
I'm the guy who knows every last fact about Spider-man and if I don't I'll track it down. I love bad movies, enjoy table-top gaming, and probably would drive you crazy if you weren't ready for it.

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 18: Of Wild Parties and Annoyed Predators
The trip home was blessedly uneventful. There were sharks, whales, and the occasional seagull, but nothing attacked them or even appeared to follow them. Hajime and the other mages did a thorough search of the ship, looking for anything that didn’t belong. They couldn’t find anything, but that didn’t mean that there wasn’t anything there; it just meant that it was hidden rather well. Although they were sure that there was something hidden, they lacked the immediate means to deal with it.

The Difference Between Vanity, Traditional, and Hybrid Publishers
When it comes to publishing, there are a ridiculous number of possibilities. However, for most people it breaks down to self-publishing versus traditional publishing. These options need to be fully explored, and this article attempts to look at the numerous options available to authors. Be advised that not all concerns are likely to addressed, but this article should be reasonably complete and covers a lot of topics important to those interested in publishing their books.

The Spirit of Giving: A Warlock for the Far North
Ivan smirked. The barbarian punched him and he barely felt it. He punched him back, sending him back a good five feet. The barbarian charged, but Ivan twinkled his nose, disappearing in a puff of smoke and appearing behind him, looking a little more refreshed. He then hit the barbarian with a club he had himself made, with a lovely grip and a large clobbering end. The barbarian fell to the ground and didn’t get up. Ivan walked outside to a waiting sled, pulled by four glowing reindeer. “Tell him this is my region, but I’d love to drink with him!” Getting into the sleigh, he jerked the reins and flew off into the night.

Bullies Suck
We’ve all had to deal with bullies. The problem is when the bullies become a problem at work. You need to figure out ways to deal with the problem, and to do so in such a way that the problem is dealt with permanently. No one deserves to be humiliated where they work or play, and if someone makes you feel like you are worth less than nothing then they need to be dealt with, preferably by the book. Hopefully, you’ll find a way to deal with your bully that removes them from the situation.

Tattoos and Rail Guns Chapter 18: When Demons Plan For the Future
Sharness rode up to her “temple”; the 1920s mansion had been refurbished with an apocalypse in mind, making it an excellent base for her operations. She had fallen in love with the curves and swoops of the mansion; it was a gorgeous edifice only highlighted by the gardens around it and the pools that someone had taken care to design slides, fire pits, and hidden nooks. It was made to satisfy the needs of those who had lived there and she could appreciate that as no human living on the planet could.

Making Your Prologues Worth Reading
Prologues are not popular. A lot of readers actually refuse to read them, and skip right over them like a short wall: These readers have found that prologues are pretty much a waste of time, and so there’s no reason to read them. Too many writers use the prologue to catch people up, introduce characters with little payoff, or just show off that they can write; these are poor reasons to have a prologue. While the prologue can do a lot of work for your story, it needs to be done with some finesse.

Brass Ring Chapter 14: When Bad Things Happen to Good People
Captain Sandoval walked into the room. In this room were ten of the best of his precinct, men who had proven themselves again and again. They had access to the best training, the best equipment, and the best weapons. Each had been assigned a suit of armor capable of handling an anti-tank weapon, a rifle that could switch between a sonic blaster, a grenade launcher, and a slug-thrower capable of eliminating a marble statue. They were ready to deal with most super-powered crime.

The Nature Spirit Patron: When Warlocks Go Back to Nature
Thibalt hated when Oxnard and his band arrived in the woods. He would of course offer to be their guide, but only because his presence kept damage from the barbarian’s predatory instincts. This case was different: Oxnard had, unsurprisingly, ticked off a platoon of mercenaries, and so they were looking for help getting away from them. He sighed. Over the next few days, he made sure that they left no tracks due to his connection with the woods, talking them down from attacking non-hostile animals (which saved their lives multiple times, considering how any bears seemed to be about), and was able to negotiate help from plants to hide the barbarians.

Sparrow on a Plank Chapter 17: When Villains Do Their Research
The crew was more interested in what was behind them than in front of them. Although Sal and Hajime were doing their level best to hide the fact that they had stolen a book from Set’s temple and that temple may have been protected by someone representing the Bubastan government, Captain Taylor knew what was gointsg on; it had been part of the contract (after all, they needed him ready to go if something had gone wrong, and his ignorance would have slowed the ship’s reaction time, causing a number of unintended deaths and destruction of the ship). Rick had also been told out of necessity for the same reason. They had also been given a certain time; if Sal and Hajime took longer than two hours, the ship was to sail. Period. Staying any longer would have endangered the crew and the boat. Rick was happy that that condition had not been used.

Energy Sources Preppers Should Look Into
Preppers debate alternative energy sources. There is always going to be a debate over which one is best, as it depends on the specific needs of the prepper and the environment they are in: You need to look at what you have available when deciding on which energy source is the best for you. However, don’t be trapped by a false binary situation: You can select multiple energy sources, depending on your environment and financial situation. Also, bear in mind that, if you want to be completely self-sufficient, then there is a learning curve as you will need to learn how the technology works.
