The Meaning of Freedom
"Freedom" is a simple word with a lot of different potential meanings. There is the freedom to be who and what you are, without fear or favour. The freedom to love who you want without persecution or repercussion. The freedom to speak your personal and political opinions without being censored by the government.

Bridgerton Season 2
Season 2 of Austen-inspired Gaslamp frock-flick Bridgerton has just released, and fans are in meltdown mode. While they're getting over the shock, I thought that it was a good chance for me to get my thoughts down, about the show overall and as an adaptation of a book series.

The Next Level
Being your own boss isn't easy, especially when you're a writer. Aside from actually writing a book, you've now got to advertise and market it, particularly for those few who prefer an actual book in their hands. Sure, word of mouth from satisfied readers is a great thing, but that momentum takes time to build, and future readers need to know that you exist, first.

Why Austen Is A Classic. Top Story - February 2022.
Jane Austen published four books in her lifetime, with the final two published after her death at the age of 42. Though the books gained a number of wealthy admirers during Jane's lifetime, she spent much of her life in relative poverty after the death of her father, and the works (a kind of satirical romance) also had their share of critics. Against all the odds, however, they endured as staples of classic literature, even centuries after her death.
